After booking her full boudoir session, Katherine joined our private Facebook group and stumbled upon our themed Vintage Pin-Up Mini session event. At first, she hesitated. “I thought the whole idea sounded fun, but also maybe a bit too ‘silly’ for me,” she said. But after mentioning it to her husband, his excitement pushed her to take the leap. Looking back, the Pin-Up Minis were a perfect introduction. With its playful vintage theme, Katherine could embrace a character while easing into the experience. She walked into the studio a little nervous but ready to trust the process.
“The transformation was an experience in itself,” Katherine said. “I hadn’t had my hair or makeup done since my wedding 18 years ago!” From my side, it was exciting to watch Katherine evolve during the session. The vintage curls, red lips, and themed outfits gave her the confidence to embody her character. Our team hyped her up even before she stepped in front of the camera! From hair, makeup, and styling, each client is totally taken care of so that all you have to do is show up. I was worried I’d look robotic or forced.” To overcome her fears, Katherine brought multiple outfits and trusted our studio’s guidance. “Miranda gave great tips on breathing, expressions, and poses,” she said. “She made everything feel natural and fun.”
For me, helping clients like Katherine move past those nerves is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. I could see her growing more comfortable with every pose. By the end, she was nailing even the most challenging poses with grace and confidence, and it was a joy to capture that on camera. One standout moment for her was a shot in front of our iconic circle window at the Mesa studio location. Katherine’s initial hesitation gave way to excitement when she saw the results. “I hesitantly opened the image…and loved it,” she said. “It was exactly what I wanted from the shoot—me, confidently embracing the woman I’ve become.” The goal with our sessions is to showcase you just as you are.
