Client Spotlight: Three Boudoir Sessions in One Year and Zero Regrets
Have you ever scrolled past a gorgeous boudoir photo and thought, “That’s great, but it’s not for someone like me”?
Our October client spotlight thought exactly that. For about a year, she read every one of my newsletters and talked herself out of booking every single time. Now she’s done three sessions with me in twelve months, and she’s the reason I wanted to write this one.
“This Was for the Younger, Slimmer, Prettier Women”
She’d wanted to do boudoir for a long time. But menopause had thrown her body and her confidence for a loop. “My body went through some really horrible changes,” she told me, and she never quite felt at home in it again.
She saw plenty of beautiful photos of women of all sizes online, “but not all ages.” So she kept scrolling.
Then a Mother’s Day special landed in her inbox, and she just did it. She booked a session four months out as a birthday gift for her husband and figured she’d deal with the fear later.
Later showed up. “I was terrified. BUT, I did it!”

Feel the Fear, Do It Anyway (Yes, Even the Third Time)
Most of us assume the nerves disappear after the first session. Her honest answer? Not really. “It may have been a little less scary because I knew what to expect, but it’s still a very personal, intimate experience.”
What kept her coming back was the variety. Every set has its own personality, and so does every outfit. The professional hair and makeup alone gave her a WOW moment each time.
Her favorite set surprised her. “I think I enjoyed the wet t-shirt the most, even though that was the one I was the most nervous about. I just tried to be myself and let Miranda guide me through the hard part, posing and smiling.”
The images that stayed with her were the ones where she felt the most exposed. “They came out so well, I was just stunned to see me in those photos.”
Her Husband Asked for Round Two
On reveal day, she looked through her gallery with her husband and loved that he picked more favorites than she did. We are all our own worst critics, right ladies?
He didn’t stop at liking them. After her first session, he ordered a coffee mug, three large prints, a calendar, and a photo cube, so her photos now live all over their home.
Then he asked her about doing another session. “Not the other way around. How can I say no to that?”
Why She Said Yes to a Founding Session
I’ve photographed women of all ages, but not everyone gives me permission to share their images. So when I opened my Founding Sessions, the whole point was to show that you can do this at any age, and that it’s okay to still want to feel sexy and wanted.
She didn’t hesitate. “If I can convince even one other ‘older’ woman that they are worthy of this experience, I will be delighted. Because we do all deserve to feel sexy.”

What Changed After
She’s always thought of herself as a sensual person, but lately not so much a sexy one. These sessions shifted that.
“There’s no one true definition of sexy, just like there’s no one true definition of beauty.” She says she now sees herself the way her husband says he sees her, and that confidence has carried over into everything else. “It’s encouraged me to build on that confidence and see what else I’m capable of.”
Her Advice If You’re on the Fence
Her take on feeling like boudoir is “for younger women” is the best I’ve heard:
“Why should the younger girls get to have all the fun? I too wish I had thought to have these done when I was younger, but you’ll never be younger than you are today.”
And on the fear: “Is it scary? Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely.”

Ready to See Yourself Differently?
If you’ve been reading, saving, and scrolling for months (or years), consider this your sign. You don’t need to be a certain age, size, or comfort level. You just need to show up. I’ll handle the posing, the pacing, and the part where you finally get to see what everyone else already sees in you.
